All about binary no. system

Most modern computer system operate using binary logic.
A computer cannot operate on the decimal number system
A binary number system uses only two digits namely 0 and 1.
The binary number system works like the decimal number system accept one change.
It used the base 2.
Hence the largest value of a digit is 1 and the number values are digits can assume is 2 that is 0 and 1
The left most bit in a given binary no. with the highest weight is called as most significant bit whereas the right most bit in a given number with the lowest weight is called as least significant bit.

all about the decimal number system

The number system we have taught to use since school is called the decimal numbering system
We are all familiar with counting and with maths that uses this system
looking at its make up will help us to understand other numbering system.

Characteristic of a decimal system
1.It uses the base of 10
2.The largest value of digit is 9
3.Each place represent a different multiple of 10
these multiples are also called as weighted values.

Most significant digit :
The left most digit having the highest weight is called as the most significant digit of a number.

Least significant digit

The right most digit having the lowest weight is called as the least significant digit of a number.

all about the octal number system

today we will deal with the octal number system:
the important features of the octal number systems are:-
1.base :the base used for octal number system is 8
2.the number of values assumed by each digit :each digit in the octal system will assume 8 different values from 0 to 7.....
3.the largest value of a digit :the largest value of a digit in the octal system will be 7...
4.each digit has a different multiples of base....

various types of the number systems

today we will deal with the different types of the number system:-

various number system and their bases :
    name of number system-------------------------base/radix
           binary                                                              2
           octal                                                                8
          decimal                                                             10
          duodecimal                                                       12
           hexadecimal                                                     16

about number system used in the signals

now we will deal with the number system which we are using in the signals....
a number system can be defined as a set of values used to represent quantity .......
let us assume the number of people attending class, the number of modules taken per student and also use numbers to represent marks obtained in the test...

things common to all numbering systems:
1.base or radix
2.the largest value of a digit is always one less than base ..
3.each digit position represents a different multiple of base....
4.column numbers

all about the digital signal system

today we will study about the digital signals:-
as in my earlier post i defined about the digital signals
now i'll define the digital system as the system which processes or works on the digital signals....
the input signal to a digital system is digital and its output signal is also digital.....

advantages of the digital system:-
1.they are cost efficient
2.highly reliable systems
3.design is much easier
4.digital display of various parameter can be obtained.
5.digital signal have memory.

best examples of the digital systems:'
1.digital calculators
2.flip-flops
3.counters
4.computers

all about the analog system

today we will deal with the analog signals......
it is defined as the system which process the analog signals are called as the analog system....
the analog system analog measurement systems are being used for a long time ....
there are some advantages of these systems, but more than them there are disadvantages.....

disadvantages of the analog signals:-
1.analysis of analog systems needs time domain analysis which required sound mathematical background..
2.the performance of these systems degrades due to component ageing ..
3.storage and processing of data is not possible as they don't have memory...
4.analog system are affected more by the unwanted electrical disturbances called noise...
5.less reliability..

best examples of the analog system ae:-
1.filters
2.signal generator
3.motor speed controllers
4.power supplied
5.amplifiers..

introduction to the signals

today we will deal with the signals .....in our day to day life we all our dealing with the signals....
now you can say that you all are surrounded by the signals....
in the day to day to life we come across various types of signals and systems......

now mainly two form of the signals are there namely:-
1.analog signals:-
these are the signals which can have infinite number of different magnitudes or values....
they vary continuously with time ....
sine wave, triangular wave are the best example of analog signals...

2.digital signals:-
a signal is called as a digital signal if it has only a finite number of predetermined distinct magnitudes..
depending on the number of distinct magnitudes, the digital signals are classified as:

number of distinct magnitude ----------------- type of digital signal
               2                                                                 binary
               8                                                                  octal
              16                                                               hexadecimal
